Canada opens its arms to international
students!
Canada has
implemented changes to work permits which allow post-graduate
students to stay in the country much longer!
Under the old rules, a foreign
post-graduate student had only 90 days after graduation to find a
job which was in their field of the degree which they studied. Now
International students can obtain a work permit to remain in Canada for
three years without any restrictions on the kind
of employment they choose!
This gives foreign students the right
amount of time to establish themselves in Canada and begin their
career which will allow them to apply for residency and have a
greater chance of success with Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
In fact, all future international graduates with at least
one year
of Canadian work experience in managerial, professional, or
technical positions during their 3 year work permit will be able to apply
to stay permanently in Canada through the Immigration class
called Canadian Experience Classification.

University Admissions professionals
and businesses across Canada celebrated the new laws which came into
effect June 2008 and apply immediately. The influx of new
foriegn students this will attract means that Canada will continue
to attract the best minds in the world and Canada's educational
institutions and workplaces will all benefit. It will also be much
less stressful for international students as it gives you much more
time to find the right career for you.
- Did you know that last year
63,673 international students came to
Canada to study at some of the countries top
educational institutions? That's a 4.6% increase over last
year!
